Applelec Yacht signage brings Phantom to life

Haunting blue illumination was created using letters by Applelec Yacht to put the finishing touches to this Gulf Craft 115. Created by embedding acrylic with thermally managed LEDs, the word ‘Phantom’ was created for the boat using our YachtLightWorks range.

Originally purchased with a vinyl name applied, the boat was upgraded with an illuminated system as one of many enhancements to the overall look of the yacht. Normally based in Puerto Alcudia, a large port in the north-east of the island, the boat is currently undergoing electrical and engineering work carried out by Marlin Marine Service in the Port Adriano shipyard.

Although the ‘Samba is Dead’ font was used, the 30mm acrylic illuminated letters brought this Phantom to life. Finished with 3mm laser cut flat cut letters, blue light glows around the edges to create striking side illumination.

Darren Thrower, Applelec Yacht international project director comments: ‘The illuminated letters supplied in our YachtLightWorks range feature a wide choice of illumination effects. This, combined with numerous LED colour options allowed the client to achieve this unforgettable blue illumination.’

Shaped to the bespoke measurements of the yacht, the rear acrylic of the yacht signage was milled out with a 7mm radius. This meant the yacht lettering could fit flush to the curvature of the boat using stud fixings.
